Somasegar, Senior VP of the Developer Division at Microsoft announced on his blog today that the much anticipated Beta 1 release of the Visual Studio 2010 & .NET Framework 4.0 is finally here! Team Suite 2010 Beta 1 and Team Foundation Server 2010 Beta 1 are also released. They are currently available for MSDN Subscribers on MSDN Subscriber Downloads site while they will be made publicly available on Wednesday (PDT).

Both Windows 7 client (x86 and x64 platforms) and Windows Server® 2008 R2 (x64 platform only) are now available on MSDN and Connect for download and testing.

Take note that upgrading from a previous beta build is not supported for client versions. Server upgrades from beta to RC are supported. The following Operating Systems are fully supported for upgrading:

• Windows Vista SP1
• Windows Vista SP2
• Windows Server 2008
• Windows Server 2008 SP2
